First among the goddesses of the Norse tradition and the wife of Odin, Frigga is generally viewed as the queen of Asgard. As portayed in this statue, on one arm is a falcon which Frigga was known to turn into with the aid of a cloak of falcon feathers, while with her other hand she holds upright the distaff after which constellations were named, and which she was known to use in the spinning of wool.
